The Top Five Harrison Ford Movies in HD on Satellite TV

Harrison Ford is one of the actors that moviegoers never grow tired of watching.  Since roles like Hans Solo catapulted him to fame in the 1970s, we've been treated to a number of memorable films by the man who personified Indiana Jones. Here are his top five films, all available in HD on satellite TV networks.

5. Working Girl. Putting together the cast for a romantic comedy, Mike Nichols has rarely made any mistakes.  By getting Ford in this film with the duo of Melanie Griffith and Sigourney Weaver, he had some of the movie-going public's all-time favorite actors.  A great script and perfect locations didn't hurt.  This film remains a revelation (and a lot of fun) on satellite TV networks like HBO and Showtime.

4. The Fugitive. One of Ford's most famous roles, he plays Dr. Richard Kimble, a man wrongly accused and convicted of murdering his wife.  Rather than wait for more of the same, he takes the opportunity of a prison bus crash to go out and clear his name.  Of course, U.S. Marshals led by Tommy Lee Jones swoop in to round up all of the escaped would-be convicts.  There's a lot of great suspense in this film, for which Ford and Jones received a host of nominations and awards, Jones winning Best Supporting Actor.

3. Star Wars. Being in one of cinema's all-time biggest movies didn't exactly hurt the career of young Harrison Ford.  Playing Hans Solo, Ford is at the helm of space fighters for some of the most thrilling scenes in movie history.  Later on, Ford had a chance to buddy up with Ewoks and showcase some of his trademark charm, as sequels in the Star Wars series were eagerly awaited by obsessed fans.

2. Witness. When an Amish boy witnesses a murder at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, a police corruption scandal is on the way.  Ford, an honest detective, takes the boy and his mother with him to hide in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.  While trying to pose as a good Dutchman, Ford falls in love and risks his career in hopes of staying alive long enough to prove what really happened.  A fine film from Peter Weir, Ford was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar.  Check out this film on satellite TV's TCM.

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark. The most famous role in Ford's terrific career, this Indiana Jones film sparked a franchise and ensured its star of a long and successful career.  Sent to battle the Nazis who are trying to recover the Ark of the Covenant, Jones has more than his fair share of adventures.  When you think about 'movie fun,' this film is at its height, enjoyed by fans young and old.  Produced by George Lucas and directed by Steven Spielberg, the film was followed by three sequels, all of which can be found on HBO in high definition.

Harrison's career has spanned generations and several different film styles.  See all of them with a <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.satellitetv-site.com/content-index.id-1.htm">satelite tv</a> TV subscription.  For times when you can't see the whole film, set up your <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.satellitetv-site.com/content-index.id-8.htm">DIRECTV DVR</a> and watch programs at your leisure.
